Samsung Dryer Error Codes
What each code on a Samsung dryer display means, what you can safely check yourself, and when it needs a technician. Codes differ between model years: the list for your exact model is on the sticker inside the door or lid, or in the manual.
First, for any code: unplug the dryer for one minute (or switch off its breaker) and start a short cycle. If the code comes back, use the table below.
| Code | What it means | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| HE / HC / HE1 | Heating problem — not heating or overheating. | Clean the lint filter and check the vent; if it repeats, element/fuse (electric) or igniter/valve (gas). |
| tS / tO / tE | Thermistor (temperature sensor) open or shorted. | Needs a thermistor and wiring check. |
| dE / dO / dC | Door open or door switch fault. | Close the door firmly; repeated codes mean the door switch. |
| 9C1 | Power supply / voltage problem. | Check the breaker and that the dryer has its own outlet; if it persists, the power supply or board. |
| bE / bE2 | A button is stuck. | Press each button once; if it stays, the control panel. |
| AE | Communication error between boards. | Unplug for five minutes; if it returns, a technician should check the boards. |
